ABOUT
Diliana is a contemporary abstract painter born in Bulgaria, raised in Italy, and now based in Dubai.
Her intuitive practice explores connection—to self, to nature, and to memory—through layered washes of liquid acrylics, inks, and water.
Working with earthy, organic palettes, she creates paintings that are both meditative and expressive, inviting stillness and reflection.
In the studio, I work in layers, building depth through texture, fluid brushstrokes, and a balance of intuition and intention. Each painting evolves organically; I follow the movement of color and composition until it feels alive.
For me, creating art is both meditative and dynamic. It is a dialogue between what I see in the world and what I feel within. My aim is not to reproduce a scene, but to capture the essence of a moment—the emotion, the atmosphere, the fleeting sense of wonder—that invites connection beyond words.
