ART BEGINS WITH A FEELING
My work explores the natural world through abstraction, using colour, movement and material to translate experiences into something tangible.
Working primarily with acrylics, inks and water, I embrace the balance between intention and unpredictability, allowing each painting to develop through an ongoing dialogue between the material and the canvas.
Each work is an exploration in its own right, shaped by the process, the moment and what emerges along the way.

“FLOW” SERIES
“ANIMA” SERIES
Giving form to what we feel.
“Anima” means Soul in Italian. Organic forms, fluid washes and deeper colours explore emotion through an intuitive process. These works move beyond the recognisable, translating feelings and experiences into abstract compositions.
Movement, held in a line.
Overlapping lines, translucent layers and organic forms inspired by the movement of nature. A restrained, earthy palette and generous areas of raw canvas create a balance between movement and space.
Water
Water is at the centre of my painting process.
Working with diluted acrylics and inks on raw or lightly primed canvas, I explore the relationship between control and surrender, allowing water to guide the movement of pigment and the development of each composition.
Within Water, two distinct series explore different expressions of this process.
ABOUT
I am Diliana Dimitrova, an abstract artist based in Dubai.
My practice is rooted in an ongoing exploration of nature, material and the relationship between intention and intuition. I am drawn to the possibilities of abstraction: how colour, texture and movement can evoke a place or a feeling without needing to describe it literally.
Through my work, I explore what we see, what we feel and what remains.
COMMISSIONS
Sometimes, the right piece begins with a particular space, a colour palette or a feeling you want to bring into a room.
I work with private collectors and interior designers to develop original paintings for specific spaces, exploring dimensions, colours and compositions that respond to the project.
Each commission begins with a conversation about the space, the artwork and the ideas behind it.
